Don Lemon Believes Homosexuality is not a SIN
Don Lemon, being with CNN, is a well-known person or famous personality, and when this kind of personality makes a public comment on such things as homosexuality and the Bible, it is more than likely that such comment will garner some kind of attention.
Don Lemon said Christ was not Perfect
Mr. Lemon has made certain comments that are not in tune with the truth of the Bible. First of all, he made the surprising comment that Jesus Christ was not perfect. During a discussion on CNN about the removal of public monuments, Mr. Lemon made this statement to Chris Cuomo: “Jesus Christ, if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ, admittedly was not perfect when he was here on earth.”
One must first ask: just where did Mr. Lemon get such understanding or on what knowledge does he have of the Bible to prove that Christ did not live a perfect life? On the contrary, the Bible shows that Christ had to be sinless and thereby perfect – in order to pay the penalty for the sins of the world – and there are many scriptures testifying to the fact that Christ was perfect and never sinned; For example, 1 Peter 2:22 declares: “Who did no sin, neither was guile in his mouth.”
This is a very dangerous statement or belief that Mr. Lemon holds on the person and character of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was literally God in the flesh and is the very Word of God – who existed with God in eternity (see John 1:1); it was HE who God used to create the Universe and the earth. Hebrews 1:10 says, “And, thou, LORD, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the work of thine hands.” This is God the Father acknowledging the power and greatness of the one who became Jesus Christ in the flesh. If you back up to verse 8, it says, “But unto the Son he saith, thy throne, O God is forever …” Here is God the Father addressing his Son saying, “Oh God.” I do not believe Mr. Lemon has this view of Jesus Christ when he said Christ was not perfect; I do not believe Mr. Lemon has grasped the magnificence and power of the one who became Christ.Seattle Dominatrix
To say that Christ was not perfect implies that HE did wrong or made mistakes – thus, leading to the notion that Christ sinned or that HE was a sinner. If you consider this, Mr. Lemon is saying that Almighty God, the Father would have been wrong in accepting Jesus Christ as the sinless atoning sacrifice for the sins of mankind; does Mr. Lemon know better than God?
When Christ was on earth the people of his day wanted to stone him because they did not recognize his divinity as God in the flesh – and they then accused him of blasphemy. Jesus then said to them: “Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, thou blasphemest, because I said I am the Son of God?” (See John 10:33, 36). Notice, God the Father sanctified and sent Christ into the world; sanctified means to set apart for holy uses and purpose. When you consider the sanctity of the life of Christ, in relation to what Mr. Lemon said about Christ not being perfect – is in fact a blasphemous statement and a very serious one, one that Mr. Lemon does need to reconsider.
Is Homosexuality a SIN?
On the popular show call The View, Mr. Lemon pointed out that it was wrong to believe that homosexuality is a sin because it hurts other people.
Mr. Lemon has seemingly concluded that it is wrong to believe homosexuality is a sin because if you believe it is a sin, then it hurts, and if it hurts other people then homosexuality cannot be a sin.
It is clearly evidenced in the Bible that homosexuality is a sin. You can go as far back as the book of Genesis to see that God created the male and female relationship; He created the woman to be man’s companion and helper; He did not create man to be in relationship with another man as husband and wife – as such is contrary to the will of God; God intended this to be strictly husband and wife relation; this is also why God said the human pair should be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 2:28). Two men cannot produce children or offspring.
God destroyed the cites of Sodom and Gomorrah for the sins of homosexuality was also going on there. You read in Genesis 19 that the men of Sodom surrounded the home of Lot -demanding that Lot send out the two men (or angels appearing in human form) who were in Lot’s home. Notice how verse 4, 5 records the actions of the men of Sodom: “But before they lay down, the men of the city of Sodom, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter. And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, where are the men which came into thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.”
The men of Sodom did not just want to know the two men on a personal level but wanted to have intimate or homosexual relation with them, because if you look further down to verse 7,8 you will see Lot pleading with the men to not do this wicked thing of having sexual relation with the men, and even offered up his own daughters to the men, but the men did not want sexual relation with women, they desired a homosexual relation. We know God destroyed the city for their wickedness.
If you go to Leviticus 18:22, God says, “You shall not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is an abomination.” The word “lie,” mean to have sexual relation; man is prohibited from having sex with another man.
God does not relax or changes his moral standard – for if you go over to 1 Corinthians 6:9 it tells you that neither idolaters, nor adulterers, “nor effeminate, nor abuser of themselves with mankind” are going to be in the kingdom of God. The word effeminate comes from a Greek word which refers to a catamite; a catamite in ancient Greece and Rome was a boy around the age of puberty who was in an intimate relation with an older male – meaning a homosexual relationship. The apostle Paul also spoke of these as “abusers of themselves with mankind.” The word abuser refers to a Sodomite – meaning the person who engages in homosexual activities with other people. If you read this passage of the Bible from the New American Standard Bible, it plainly uses the word “homosexual.”
People may try to reason around or try to justify homosexuality, but they will never be able to change the truth of God. God has made known that homosexuality is wrong; there is no way that mankind is ever going to reason his way out of God’s truth.
Don Lemon said it hurts other people to say that homosexuality is wrong; he says this because he wishes to justify the wrongful desires of the human heart; that kind of heart wants nothing to do with the truth of God – because that truth is like a shining light that exposes the evils of men and cuts like a knife. Notice what Hebrew 4:12 has to say: “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart.”
It is not what men say, but more about what God’s truth says about man’s spiritually depraved condition; God pulls no punches when it comes to sin – as He calls out things the way they are. The homosexuals would like to hear smooth things about their spiritual condition; they want the world to cave in to their wrong way of living and make them feel their lifestyle is justified and must therefore be accepted; they do not want the truth of God that says this is wrong, and even the so-called Christian churches of today are failing to call out this sin of homosexuality -and the nation and our leaders are just going along with it- fearing to give voice or calling it out as sin. Isaiah 68:1 Declares: “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sin.”
The Bible says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14: 12). To justify the sin of homosexuality, Mr. Lemon and all those who want to believe homosexuality is not wrong are simply going the way that seems right to them – because they do not wish to believe what God says in his words; as Jesus said, “men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19). But be that as it may, the homosexual will never change God’s truth or the fact that homosexuality is sin.
